A glorious day in Paris

We arrived in Paris about 8:30 am yesterday - Oct. 2 with little sleep, but what is adrenalin for anyway? After about an hour taxi drive from the airport to the heart of Paris, we found our apartment on Place Dauphine at the west tip of the Ile de Citè.  The windows of our apartment look out onto Pont Neuf and the Eiffel Tower beyond.   We met our young friends, Ester and Arpad from Budapest, in the square for café (expresso here) before setting out to explore on this amazingly rare, completely blue sky day.   Parisians were soaking up the sun everywhere.  Norte Dame, the Deportation Memorial, the Ile  St. Louis and the Left Bank filled us with the sights and sounds - the spirit of Paris.  After dinner in a Buci café and an ice cream, we stumbled home in exhaustion after a glorious first day in Paris.
