Ariège to Cadeques

The clouds, rain, and cold of yesterday that led us to the hot baths at Ax les Thermes, gave way to a gloriously clear, blue sky day for our drive back across the Pyrenees from France to Spain. Through yellow and orange drenched mountain passes, vistas above the tree line, dizzying climbs, hairpin turns and precipitous drops to gorges below, Tom drove on, ever focused, as I oohed and awed. Stopping often to enjoy the views and carefully negotiating the twisting roads,at times only a single lane wide, we reached Cadeques in the last afternoon light.
