The Troglodyte Church of Vals

Suspected to be a pre-Roman religious site, the Church of Vals was built as part of a 10th century medieval village, utilizing a fault in the rock for the entrance.  It's hard to tell where the rock ends and the building begins.   Romanesque frescoes adorning the ceiling have been restored and artifacts unearthed.  This is a very ancient and spiritual place for both of us.
